In today's episode, we'll cover, OpenAI debuts ChatGPT subscription aimed at small teams, again OpenAI launches a store for custom AI-powered chatbots and Meta’s new disclosure requirements for AI-altered ad content Hey, welcome back. We have two new pieces of news from OpenAI this week. Firstly, the company has just launched the GPT Store, a platform for custom AI-powered chatbot applications called GPTs. This store is integrated into the ChatGPT web client and features GPTs from OpenAI partners and the developer community, across various categories such as lifestyle, writing, and education. Access to the GPT Store requires a subscription to one of OpenAI's premium plans. The store includes GPTs like trail recommenders and code tutors, which don't require coding experience to build. OpenAI plans a revenue program for developers based on user engagement with their GPTs. The second piece of news from OpenAI this week is it has recently introduced ChatGPT Team, a new subscription plan tailored for small teams of up to 149 members, marking a significant advancement in AI-powered collaborative tools. This bespoke plan offers a unique workspace equipped with OpenAI's AI models, GPT-4 with Vision, and DALL-E 3 - enabling teams to perform a wide array of tasks including text generation, image understanding, and file analysis. Aimed particularly at small to medium-sized businesses, ChatGPT Team is set at a competitive price point of $30 per user per month, or a reduced rate if billed annually. This strategic move by OpenAI is set to cater to the growing trend of AI utilization in the business sector, where a significant proportion of companies are already leveraging AI for various applications such as coding, content creation, and document summarization. Finally, Meta has recently implemented stringent new disclosure requirements for digitally altered content in political ads. This significant policy shift, effective from the 10th of January, mandates that advertisers openly disclose the use of photorealistic AI-generated imagery or audio in ads focused on social issues, elections, and politics. This move, initially announced in November 2023, comes in response to the escalating use of sophisticated AI tools in political campaigns, as exemplified by U.S. Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis's recent use of an AI-generated image of Donald Trump. Mirroring this trend, platforms like YouTube and TikTok have also introduced tags for AI-generated content, aiming to bolster transparency. As AI technology rapidly advances, Meta's proactive approach aims to curtail deceptive digital messaging, especially pertinent in the critical pre-election blackout period. This development underlines the growing need for clear ethical standards in digital advertising amidst the rise of AI. In today's podcast, we covered OpenAI debuting a ChatGPT aimed at small teams, OpenAI launching a store for custom AI-powered chatbots and Meta’s new disclosure requirements for AI-altered ad content.
